We are happy to announce the French Chess Championship 2026 and French Women’s Chess Championship 2026 that will take place in Vichy from August 7 to 16. The format is a 16-player knockout. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 30 minutes to finish the game, with a 30-second increment from move one. In case of a tie after two classical games, two games of rapid (15+10) are played; if still tied, two games of blitz (5+3), and if still tied, an armageddon game (5 vs. 4)
