The FIDE World University Team Chess Championship 2026 gives 16 of the world's best university teams the opportunity to compete for a total prize fund of €50,000 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 3-10 August. Lichess is pleased to be the official partner for the two online Swiss qualifiers (2 & 9 May) and the online knockout qualifier (16 & 17 May). The top 16 teams from each Swiss tournament will advance to the knockout stage, with 8 teams qualifying for the over-the-board finals.
